In celebration of Russell Library’s 150th year serving Middletown, we decided to spread joy and have fun in 2026. Between the anniversaries of our doors opening to the public (April 5) and our incorporation (November 17) players will find opportunities around town to accumulate points and badges. Prizes will go to top scorers each month. Ultimately, one winner will receive a coveted Grand Prize and bragging rights as the Most Middletown of Them All (MMoTA).

If you want to get off to a head start, don’t miss our birthday party on Saturday, April 11. Players can have their cake and earn points, too. There will be games galore, including “Find Frances” (like a real life version of Where’s Waldo but searching for our founder, Frances Russell, who will be wandering the stacks), old-school bingo, giant chess, air hockey, foosball, assorted board games and puzzles for all ages. Across our building you’ll see archival photos of Russell Library over the years. After hours the Eastern CT Paranormal Society will tell tale of their encounters in our historic building – don’t forget to register because it’ll reach capacity fast. By the end of the day many players will have earned enough points to take home their first prize!
What’re you waiting for?!? Hop to it and start playing! GAME ON!!!
